two post within a week. What is going on? It must be the change of the weather. I walked to work this morning so it must be all the extra energy I am feeling. Or is it I have veggieated on the couch for months so it is time to get with it. I'll go with a combo of both maybe. I have been blogging for a couple years now and still have no real sense on how the templates and stuff work. I really would like to explore more but then that all takes time and do I really want to spend time on computer or sewing. Sewing!! Ok so no change for me. Thought for a brief second you might get an improved blog but nope you're stuck with this. So I found a couple pictures that I had lost. In the unzipped file of all places. *Note to self check what is highlighted before transferring camera pictures.
This is one of my quilts. All Sewn Up. This was started in 2005 or so. I asked a friend to host an online swap of sewing notions block. She asked what block and I said I didn't care. I knew she had great taste and have always loved everything she has done so I had no fear that what ever she chose would be great. Then she came out this this block and I hated it. I thought it was the most boring but I made lots of em and helped her swap them out. I moved and packed them away. But I never forgot about them. I collected more of the fabric and when I saw a bit in a customer quilt I asked about theirs. Most of the time I was given the 2 squares that I needed. So I finally got this out May of 2012 and made a few more while at a retreat, once back at home I stuck them all on my design wall. I just hated it. I turned them on point and things started to look up. I had them random and then decided to go with this (sort of) gradation of dark to light. I should have stepped back more but 'Oh well' it is mine and it is done!!!!and I have to say my friend wonderful block! It made a beauty of a quilt.
This beauty is Rose's T-Shirt quilt for a step grandson. I like how she mixed photos and T-shirts making this a true memory quilt. I am sure he will love it, I mean whats not to love when grand ma make you something. Great job Rose.
Still looking for some of the photos and have decided that it may be best just to retake them but once again *Note to self 'Pay attention'
Enough for now

Row xRow
last Fri night I worked on a Row x Row that was due on Monday, Yes I know I shouldn't leave things for the last minute. But if I got things done in advance it would take all the fun out of it. Well here is my row on the bottom.
She asked us not to sew her rows together so I rearranged them the way I thought they should go of course now I an anxious to see how she sets them together. She talked about putting strips of black sashing in between the rows. First I don't think it needs it and then if I did sash it I think I would use purple as that is the main color. Bu then we all know that everyone has opinions right or wrong. Like I said I can't wait to see what she does with it.
With this row x row done I am now just in two. I had two row x rows in this swap so it is nice that I have two out of the way and can now focus on some other things. Please Lord don't let me start up on another one. Let me be strong to say no.
I am recovering from surgery and finding I can spend a little more time in the sewing room but still like to recline back in the La-z-boy. With that I have been working on my applique.
I got the top border done and now working on the bottom border, BUT not knowing what the heck I was doing I didn't leave the vine long enough to hang off and join to the top piece so I had to piece it well of course no matter how many times I measured when I sewed it together the seams don't quite match and of course it looks hideous, so I am toying with what to put there. Over this one I have little flowers all the same color. But I didn't go with that you will just have to wait to see what I did go with. Yes I learned what not to do and hopefully if I try something like this again I will remember this lesson. Doubt it, I seem to have a hard head when it comes to these sort of things.
I have so many other pics but they are on the camera so I guess I better go get them.
Bye for now

Happy 4th
Well time just keeps flyin' by! It seems like just yesterday I posted on here and I look and it has been over a week. Wow where does it go? I hope everyone is having a wonderful and safe 4th. My oldest grandson was here but not for long! He was going to spend the night with me but his friend, from my area, called and it was, please grandma can I spend the night. So we had a couple good hours and I took him over to his friends house. Geez he sure is getting old! Being with grandma is not near as fun as it was when he was a little guy! I am going to go get him tomorrow and I am going to get his picture, I haven't had a new one of him in ages. Well I am on vacation right now and I am trying to get my Mom's quilts quilted before she gets here at the end of the week. I also need to clean the house, hmmm which is more important, clean house (work) or quilting. DUH we know the answer to this even if it wasn't my mom's that need the quilting, I would still rather do it. I guess I will post pics of them later, right now I will try to catch up on some quilting.
This is a quilt my mom had made and given to me to pass out. It is (or was) a honor quilt for a soldier's mother. The yellow star represents the soldier gave his life in duty. Unfortunately it is going out this weekend. Another friend is doing the binding and will do the presentation this weekend.
This is a T-Shirt quilt that Martha made. I just love the T-shirts in this one. Such cool shirts! So many times you see just sport shirts but this had such a variety! I love the Marilyn shirt and the Beatles. The it has some machine embroidery ones. Yep this one was just too cool.
This is one of my quilts. I call this one patriotic spools. The blue spools are from 80's fabrics and the red is from the 40's or so. I love using old fabric and turning it into beautiful quilts. I know some people only want new fabrics but I am one of those that couldn't care less. I love it all. Vintage fabrics are wonderful!
Well that is it for now, everyone have a good and safe holiday!
