Row xRow

last Fri night I worked on a Row x Row that was due on Monday, Yes I know I shouldn't leave things for the last minute. But if I got things done in advance it would take all the fun out of it. Well here is my row on the bottom.
She asked us not to sew her rows together so I rearranged them the way I thought they should go of course now I an anxious to see how she sets them together. She talked about putting strips of black sashing in between the rows. First I don't think it needs it and then if I did sash it I think I would use purple as that is the main color. Bu then we all know that everyone has opinions right or wrong. Like I said I can't wait to see what she does with it.

With this row x row done I am now just in two. I had two row x rows in this swap so it is nice that I have two out of the way and can now focus on some other things. Please Lord don't let me start up on another one. Let me be strong to say no.

Carol's T-Shirt quilt, She does such a wonderful job on these.

I am recovering from surgery and finding I can spend a little more time in the sewing room but still like to recline back in the La-z-boy. With that I have been working on my applique.

I got the top border done and now working on the bottom border, BUT not knowing what the heck I was doing I didn't leave the vine long enough to hang off and join to the top piece so I had to piece it well of course no matter how many times I measured when I sewed it together the seams don't quite match and of course it looks hideous, so I am toying with what to put there. Over this one I have little flowers all the same color. But I didn't go with that you will just have to wait to see what I did go with. Yes I learned what not to do and hopefully if I try something like this again I will remember this lesson. Doubt it, I seem to have a hard head when it comes to these sort of things.
I have so many other pics but they are on the camera so I guess I better go get them.
Bye for now

FNSI results

I am little slow on this but hey I got there. I really didn't get all done that I wanted to but you have to bare with me I am moving slow these days. Last week I had surgery and I have been dying to get into the sewing room so I thought FNSI would be a wonderful time to do that. Weeeeeeelllllllllllllllllllll I need to get two rows done for two row by rows that I am in and I spent all day Fri cutting and resting cutting and resting. I just can't believe how tired I still get a week after the fact but on to sewing. I did manage to get some sewing done. Not much but some.
See not one block done but they are all cut out and I do feel better about that. I wish now I would have picked an easy block but no I pick some start that has 30 pieces in one block yep a simple sawtooth star should have been on this girls mind but noooooooooooo.

I had wanted to get a pillowcase done but I didn't but I do have some on hand and may have to dig one or two up. Keeping the addy just in case this girl gets the strength to go on a hunt, or sew some up after I get these stars done.

Hubby and I got a new car the week before I had my surgery and isn't it a cutie.

It is a Chevy Sonic, nope not a hybrid, but it gets between 35 and 40 MPG and when I need to travel 750 miles one way to see my family I knew I needed to do something. I really haven't had much time with it since it was so new and I been laid up.

Well I need to get this row done so I better get to sewing.

Time presses on

Whether you want it to or not time keeps slipping right through our fingers.  I just don't know where time has went. When I last posted I was talking about winning, the FNSI and a door prize at a local quilt show. Well I went off to retreat and as I headed out the door I grabbed a package that came in the mail. It was the wonderful book that I won off the FNSI. I shared the book with all the retreaters and they sure loved looking at it. So go check it out yourself.
Here is a quilt I did for Rejena
I don't think I ever posted a picture of it. Rejena is expecting her first grand baby and this is her quilt. Of course if you can't tell her first grand child is going to be a little girl, and she should be arriving any day now.
